-Naturally Derived Quinoa Peptides
Peptides are naturally occurring amino acids that make up certain proteins needed by the skin. They stimulate your skin to make collagen, which results in a firmer, younger looking complexion. Peptides can penetrate the outer layer of the skin, so instead of sitting on top of the skin, they sink in more deeply. You can think of them as messengers for the other cells — they send signals telling the cells to produce collagen and elastin. Our peptides are derived from quinoa seed extract, which contains small peptides that provide powerful performance to support the structural integrity of the skin.
-Vitamin A (Retinol)
Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A, the group of fat-soluble vitamins common in carrots, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes. Retinol stimulates production of collagen and new skin cells, reducing fine lines and wrinkles. It can also help to even out skin tone by fading dark spots, decrease oil production, and has an anti-inflammatory effect.
-Vitamin B3
Vitamin B3 helps hydrate skin, treats hyper-pigmentation, promotes skin elasticity, decreases redness and blotchiness and acts as an antioxidant, fighting free radicals. It also helps to strengthen the skin barrier, locking in moisture and minimizing fine lines.
-Kojic Acid
Kojic acid is made from several different types of fungi. It’s also a byproduct when certain foods ferment, including Japanese sake, soy sauce, and rice wine. Kojic acid inhibits and prevents the formation of tyrosine, which is an amino acid that’s needed to produce melanin. Melanin is the pigment that affects hair, skin, and eye color. Because it inhibits the production of melanin, kojic acid can have a lightening effect. Kojic's acid primary use and benefit is to lighten visible sun damage, age spots, or scars. This may result in an anti-aging effect on the skin.
-Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the eyes and joints. It acts as a cushion and lubricant to joints and other tissues. Its main benefit is its ability to moisturize and hydrate the skin. It can absorb more than 1000 times its own weight in water. It minimizes signs of aging, since plump and hydrated skin makes fine lines and wrinkles less visible.
-Cannabidiol (CBD)
Studies have shown that CBD may have anti-inflammatory properties when topically applied, providing more moisture while relaxing the skin, which over time results in reducing the production of wrinkles as well as the appearance of them. The antioxidants in CBD (the component in our body that fights free radicals) may assist in combating the loss of oil, collagen and elastin in our skin glands. CBD may be able to help reduce swelling, pain, and redness from existing acne breakouts, or irritation from skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
